Nongkrong Dong...
“Nongkrong dong” is an Indonesian term for hanging around. This program was initiated spontaneously to honour visiting ethnomusicologist and Indonesian composer, Franki Raden at the Ijzerblok Studios. The event was dedicated to an evening of unpacking Indonesian identity and history through music, and music itself as a radical tool for resistance against colonial frameworks surrounding Indonesian history and culture.

Accompanying this lecture was musical performances by Bintang Manira Manik and Jessye Carmi A.K.A. Beallmighty. Both with unique Indonesian narratives and forms of music-making.
